Book Review: River Marked (Mercedes Thompson, Book 6), By Patricia Briggs

River Marked (Mercedes Thompson, Book 6)
By: Patricia Briggs

Honeymoons are suppose to be worry free, but between the fey, river monster, and near death experiences – Mercedes Thompson (friendly neighborhood mechanic and shape shifter) finds her honeymoon anything but.

A bit slower paced than the five earlier books, River Marked is still an enjoyable adult read. It's introduction of several new characters as well as background information makes it an interesting and valuable addition to the series. It contains frequent references to sexual activity and nudity (although the scenes are primarily of the cut away and return later variety) as well as killing, injuries, drinking blood and magical ceremonies. Fans of the series should find the content similar if less gruesome than that seen in prior installments.
