When a powerful bit of witchcraft leaves Atticus certain that his life is once again in danger, he sets out to find and eliminate this new threat. But with the demonic aftermath of book one still following him about, political upheaval in Tir na nOg making life difficult and a colorful cast of new enemies haunting his steps, not to mention the police and his not-so-friendly neighbor, Atticus may find prioritizing his crises a bit challenging.

Hexed is the second book in the Iron Druid series (adult urban fantasy) and a fairly fast flowing book, rich in action and bits of humor. The world building expands to include some forays into Christian/Catholic figures in addition to those of other religions/beliefs. Unlike book one, Hounded, this installment ends in a decidedly less satisfying way, due to a number of unresolved plot lines.

Hexed includes:
  • Profanity: B*stard, *ss, b*tches, b*tchin, f word, sh*t, wh*re
  • Nudity
  • Many various sexual innuendos
  • References to rough sex (scratching, biting, hair pulled out)
  • Sex (both in a fairly non descriptive scene and an awareness of it happening in the vicinity)
  • Death (violent, but without descriptive gore)
  • Injuries (burns, broken bones)
  • Use of magic to kill
