Anita is called upon to raise a graveyard full of zombies, but instead finds herself in a web of vampire murder investigations and fey magic.
Bloody Bones provides some enjoyable character development for both Larry and Jean Claude while Anita reconsiders her basic assumptions about life and death, good and evil. Much like the first three Anita Blake books and unlike the fourth, Bloody Bones is more plot focused with relationships as an aside.
Bloody Bones contains the following content:
- References to pedophile actions and sexual assault of children
- Killing (burning, beheading, mauling)
- Use of magic to kill
- References to a desire for sex
- Some details about public group sex
