The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer Trilogy, book 1)

Mara Dyer wakes up in a hospital after being caught in a building collapse that resulted in the death of her friends, unable to remember anything about the event. As haunting flashbacks begin to hit her, and Mara discovers a dangerous power she didn’t know she had, everyone around her thinks she’s crazy—everyone except Noah Shaw, a boy with his own secrets whom Mara feels strangely drawn to.

Parents should be aware that this book contains:

• Sexual banter
• Smoking
• Making out with heavy sexual tension
• Attempted rape (this is an intense and disturbing scene)
• Descriptive violence (very gory deaths)
• References to animal abuse
• Profanity (including the F-word)

This is a fast-paced, suspenseful paranormal/horror debut that ends with a cliffhanger. Many scenes are very frightening, so I would recommend people read this with the lights on. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer contains a lot of profanity, gory violence, and sexual references throughout. Suitable for older teens.
