All America ever wanted was to marry the man she loves, but when said man insists she enter the selection (to possibly become the wife of the crown prince) then breaks up with her, a brokenhearted America is left wondering if she can love the prince and if she even wants to find out.

First of all, if you can't stand love triangles - do not read this book. It's about as love trianglely as you can get. The Selection is set in post WWIII / WWIV North America and is a moderately paced, smooth flowing young adult, dystopian romance. The ending is not satisfying, but as the first in a series that is not particularly unexpected.

This story includes:
  • Questions about the virginity of individuals
  • Nudity referenced but not described
  • Kissing referenced
  • Making out (not described in ultra detail, more an awareness that touching, kissing, hugging is occurring and that there is a strong desire to go further.)
  • Physical punishment of a child
  • Use of the word Damn
