Book Review: Eldest (The Inheritance Cycle, Book 2)

Eldest (Inheritance, #2)Eldest (The Inheritance Cycle, book 2)
By: Christopher Paolini

Open war looms in the near future; the Varden ready themselves to oppose Galbatorix; and Eragon must receive training from the Elves, but with his debilitating injury it will take a miracle before he can face the empire.

Eldest is an exciting, though somewhat more brutal book than Eragon. It follows two distinct story lines (Eragon and Roran), though this does not take away from the story or its readability in any way.

This book contains:
  • drinking
  • intoxication
  • brief references to sexual activity outside of wedlock
  • killing
  • death
  • injuries
  • both male and female nudity
The book also mentions several different worldviews upheld in Alegaesia about the world, God, gods, marriage, and an afterlife.
