Sookie Stackhouse has a disability – she can read peoples minds. Others view it as a blessing, but when you're dating somebody it can get really uncomfortable. So when Bill the Vampire walks into her place of work with thoughts she can't hear - it's a breath of fresh air. Then women start showing up dead with vampire bites and all eyes turn to her Bill.

Dead Until Dark is an easy adult read with an entertaining tone. Readers should be aware that it contains excessive sexuality:
  • kissing
  • groping
  • full nudity
  • a detailed account of losing ones virginity
  • a number of additional sex scenes
  • many references to other sex related activities/thoughts
As well as
  • profanity
  • blood drinking
  • Injuries
  • killing
  • awareness of some disturbing images of death. 
This book is not appropriate for young readers.
