All Sloan wants to do is die. So when zombies overrun the population and end life as we know it, she should have got her wish. Instead she survived. Now she's hiding with five other kids, but unlike them - she isn't hoping for rescue.
This Is Not A Test deals strongly with feelings of abandonment, the psychological impact of physical
abuse, and suicidal thoughts. It's very well written in a style that flows easily from page to page. Readers should be aware that it contains an abusive parent, killing, zombies tearing into people, bites, injuries, references to drugs, smoking, kissing, making out, partial nudity, groping (including of the vaginal area) masturbating, remarks about past sexual activity between minors, many uses of the F word, Christ & Jesus as profanity as well as other expletives.
This is a young adult book and I recommend parental discretion with younger readers.
