Book Review: The Red Pyramid (Kane Chronicles, Book 1), By Rick Riordan

The Red Pyramid (Kane Chronicles, #1)
By: Rick Riordan

Carter and Sadie Kane have lived apart ever since their mother's death and an ugly custody battle left them separated with only two days together a year. They were virtually strangers the day their dad took them to the museum, blew up an exhibit, released several Egyptian deities, and was captured by the evil god Set. Now Carter and Sadie must work together to rescue their dad, discover the secrets of their family's heritage, and defeat Set before he destroys North America.

The Red Pyramid is an entertaining Middle Grade to Young Adult read with a lot of brother/sister humor throughout. It contains non-graphic violence, the use of magic, hosting another entity inside your body, name calling, use of the word “bloody”, and infatuation with the opposite sex.
